The word ‘hoarder’ is thrown around a lot in minimalism circles, so much so that I often feel that I’ll be granted the minimalist badge of honour for not exclaiming, like many others “I went from a hoarder to minimalist!”. That doesn’t matter, as competition isn’t what minimalism is, and it’s something I try to stay away from as much as possible since I’m naturally quite competitive anyway!  Continue reading “The Problem with the Word ‘Hoarder’ | minimalism”

Probably with a slightly healthier bank balance, but hey, I happily give that up for the joy of finding the hoppiest IPAs and most coffee-ish Russian Imperial Stouts.

Such things bring me joy.

Sentimental Items: My Toughest Challenge | minimalism

The past few days have been an intresting few for me. I planned to write this post on Friday, but the topic of it actually got in the way and unleashed a whirlwind in our small studio! I knew that decluttering, especially sentimental items, would be life-changing, and I’ve reaped so many benefits over the past year and a half or so already from the process, yet I was totally unprepared for the aftermath of donating some of my most confusing, and thus emotional sentimental items.

The Cult (and Myth) of Personal Style | minimalism

Sorry for the long silence everyone! Our semester break has been punctuated by a three-week long trip to visit loved ones and we’ve spent a lot of time in transit and having a brilliant time with friends, family, and brewers I’d personally begin to consider personal friends (well, okay, they were nice to us when we visited their breweries. That’s the same thing, right?) I want to write a lot about travels and my collected thoughts (of which there are many, one of the joys of travel is the time it allows for reflection- both self and otherwise-, and will over the coming weeks, but there has been an issue on my mind I need to shake off- perhaps for my mental health as much as for the mere observation.
